Have a PC connected via Alcatel 330 USB Modem. Since I also have 5 other PC to share, I installed a NIC in the PC and bought a Belkin WLAN/Router. All of us can share and see each other and life is grand, but one or two games that my son plays online (ARC and RuneScape) will only work from the directly-connected PC with NIC. We tried all the common proxy progs and port forwarders avail and can't crack it. Today I spoke with a friend and he suggested an 'Ethernet' modem be obtained and used by plugging into the Belkin WAN port, and the (perviously USB-connected) PC be plugged into the 4-port HUB of the Belkin. So I brought one home to try that. Reconfigured a laptop to network 10.0.0.2 and set up the the modem (Speedstream 5260) from it's default 10.0.0.1 to my network range 192.168.44.x. Tried with bridging both en and dis-abled, but the 5260-to-WAN connection still wont work (either with straight-thru or X-over) - however it will go ready if I plug it into one of the Belkin ports, but I still cannot browse... I set up the Belkin WAN, and 5260 says DSL is 'UP' even tho I configured it by the book. I just cannot get my network (or even 1 PC) online with this setup using a 5260. I reverted back to the 330 USB-ADSL configuration to send you this plea for help. I guess if someone could figure out how I can get these games to work at the WLAN workstations I could just forget using the 5260. I even turning off the Firewall failed to get a connection. All the lamps are Green, all link lights light, DSL is reported up, I don't know what bridging is, but tried it both ways - still no go. I don't even have a clear idea WHAT ports need to be fwd and how to do it...can't find reference to either anywhere on the web and the game forums are just as dodgy. Got everything else configured to work with the original 330, (AOL, ICQ, FTP, etc..) just not these games. and nothing with the 5260.
Any help appreciated
