"pachell", LOL! try dannjr's DSL patch. Or you could use cablenut's patch but the MTU would have to be changed to 1492 and 104544 for the DefaultRcvWindow.

Try the "sguide_tweak_98_ME_PPPoE" patch from here (http://www.speedguide.net/Cable_modems/cable_patches.shtml).

i agree with glc1. the PPPoE tweak found here works nicely with PPPoE service. i used it when i first got pacbell service (PPPoE at the time) and it doubled my d/l, and increased my u/l by maybe 5kbps (from 650kbps/107kbps to 1300/112). cant really beat that (with a 1.5mbps/128kbps) cap.

BTW, providers will not/don't provide speed guarantees. They can't, as there are too many speed determining factors that are out of their hands. Usually w/cable (at least ATT@Home), if your getting above a certain speed, they won't consider your connection as having a problem. In other words, just b/c your neighbor down the street gets 400KBps doesn't mean that you will/should either. If they mentioned anything about speeds, they prolly gave you avgs for your area. Contact them and see if they have this "sweat spot" policy. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
