Here's a very interesting post comparing Guild Wars with traditional MMORPG's like Everquest and World of Warcraft.

I like the concept of Guild Wars..but since it is free...I rather not play..only going to have many of the same type of people playing diablo and diablo2...and all those hackers and cheats

I admit that I don't know much about the security of the game, but I do remember hearing that ArenaNet (GW developer) has some cool technology that allows them to constantly be streaming stuff to us and constantly trying to eliminate the cheaters.
But I do understand your point. I will never stop loving GW though. I'm just trying to spread the GW cheer. :)

I guess the main difference between GW and Everquest/WoW is that GW really focuses on PvP and GvG (Guild-vs-Guild) a lot. I mean, the name of the game IS Guild Wars. And Everquest/WoW is more of a PvM game, focusing on the never-ending grind of leveling and getting that much stronger.
I'm more into the PvP/GvG side of things where everything is always changing and you're always battling new people. It keeps me on my toes.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard that Everquest/WoW aren't too big in PvP content, and I love PvP.

EQ/EQ2 is focused totally on PVE...While WoW is mostly PVP with some PVE
