wow I just saw @HOME is going with new KICKA** downloads speeds please post here if you love @HOME dont post if you hate @HOME cause we all know that cannot be the truth

Well i hate @HOME i run an IBM p 66 with a 66Mhz PENTIUM CHIP!! and 16 megs of ram!! i also have an apple 2E and i share my connection through one of the 3 3COM (the best) network cards in my pc that all have prefect driver configs . i then use my apple talk to go to my vpn and then my pptp to go through my intel hub to my linksys firewall router that i have behind my nat server that i use my old junky 386 to run . i have opened my modem and resoldered the wires like the super cracker un capper warez site told me to do at www.*******.com (http://www.*******.com) and i downloaded the latest cracked config file from www.stupidmoron.com (http://www.stupidmoron.com) and my modem still sux. I was told by my friend that is a network admin that i should get a constant T3 speed up and down if @HOME was not SOOOOOOO gready and that i could easily host a server on my computers and not interfear with anybody else on my nobe?? i know i do not have a virus cause i also run zone ice and black defender to protect from hacker kiddies and i have macafee and norton to scan my hotmail and aol accounts. i put all the patches from netsonic on by computer too (it is hard to get one for windows 3.1) but still when i go to aol or bonzi buddy it still seams slow. i did a speed test at www.unreliable.com (http://www.unreliable.com) and it said my speed sux even when i am only gettin like 3 files on napster or napagator while testin. my network admin friend with the cisco A+ cert said that sux and that he herd a rumor that @Home buys all the oldes cisco stuff at garage sales and stuff and patches it togather and like duct tapes the nobes togather to increase their size. and squeeze more band length out of them. i saw on ART BELL last night a guest that said there is a huge plot to corner the market on bandwidth by the bass brothers in dallas and then squeeze all the users for like 2 more dollars than they pay a month to get aol. i am payin 35 dollars to do none of the things i could do on aol even if i wanted too like host a server even though im not supposed too and my speed is only like 48 times better than a 56KB modem i should get like 7MBPS up and down for that the dsl i saw that just went out of bussiness had a 7MBPS up and down package with ALL the news groups ect that i was gonna get for like 19.95 a month but they went under just as i had saved up enough of my allowence to get it that sux for now i just suffer with @HOME

I am on @home in alexandria (near DC) and they just 'upgraded' our servers a few months ago. Download still rocks but the upload cap is in effect @128.

Sup people i Just learned of a little script for those of you that are on @home and use IE

click on
>tools
>internet options
>connections
>lan settings

in the field
>use automatic configuration script
check the box and enter
>http://proxy:8080

this script if not already there will increase downloads in IE only and will alow you to connect to other @home users in you node if they are running a webpage

I am still experimenting let me know how it works for you!

mabe the P66 boy should get rid of cable for a while and save up for a P200 :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek:

Yo Nuro, you are aware that Proxy:8080 is a local proxy, aren't you? The only benefits you'll get re downloads are from frequently hit pages the proxy stores in it's cache. BTW, if that wasn't set up by your installer there is most likely some other settings that aren't optimized. Look in the install guide that came in your @home box. In fact... "EVERYBODY- read the book."

I run roadrunner and my up load is 389 to 400 and the down load is usally 5760.4 in the busy time and 6845.8 during the late hours. You must have had a bad provider.

is nobody reading what was said the setup described would never work and is totally stupid and the point was people go out and do all this crazy ass stuff with their computer then wonder y it has a problem and it is imediately the isp's fault sorry for the rant
