ok, i have been trying to figure out this problem for weeks, and i am stumped.

when i boot my computer, it gets to the starting windows 98 part, and then just hangs. i then have to hit my reset button, and when it prompts me, i choose 1 for normal mode and everything works fine.

here is what i am noticing: on the first try, i don't get any activity on my data light on the modem. on the second try, there is a delay, but then i get a few blinks on the modem light and it goes into windows.

is it waiting for a network response that i am not getting on the first try? how do i fix this issue.

i am running windows 98, have dhcp enabled (not running static ip), have not installed the @home software, and have the cablenut patch in.

any ideas?
