An overhead question.

Dsl has an overhead loss of about 15% so I was wondering what the overhead on cable was?

It's not that easy... over the coax on the downstream you only use a given 6MHz channel which is capable of about 30Mbps, but it varies with different modulation... this bandwidth is divided up to everyone on the ubr... basically i don't think you should worry about overhead if you're going to get cable... worry about @Hoax or whoever doing their job... if you are capped at 128kbps upstream make sure you get at least 120kbps... downstream i usually get 3Mbps but they only support up to 560kbps...
