preorder HL2..... check...... ordered new hardware.... check.....

so, if all goes well i should have the game in my hands tomorrow after work, and should ideally have the hardware (Athlon64 3500+, nForce3 Ultra board, 1GB of Corsair PC3200 and a 73GB 10,000RPM Raptor drive) by wednesday or thursday if Newegg sticks to their normal shipping times.

may try and install it on my current system (XP 1900+, 512MB PC 3000, KT333 board, Radeon 9800Pro), but my hopes arent very high on how well that will pan out.

thanks, bud. the vidcard (my current 9800Pro) isn;t quite as strong as what's new, but i had to keep the cost kinda low (with x-mas coming up and as is my tradition, i havent done any shopping yet). plus, i didn;t want to be spending more money on computer stuff really soon. spent just shy of $800 for the stuff i mentioned. it;s socket 939 as well, which in a way broke my heart...... for soooo long i was telling myself that when i upgrade next (when HL2 comes out) i was going to build a nice 1MB L2 Opteron system. oh well.



hey, do you know if CS will be a free mod like it was, or one we need to additionally pay for?

thanks, man. the mainboard is the Gigabyte GA-K8NS. the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum is a better performer, but not by too much. i wanted to be playing HL2 by the weekend at the latest, the Newegg didnt have them in stock. the GA-K8NS's bigger brother is like $80 more, but i went the stripped down version route.

WOW! We've wated so many years...I remember memorys of HL1. I cant wait for some HL2 mods to come out. This game will probably outnumber the number of mods that HL1 has. I also like how they have a lip synchronozation feature in the game. Where if you drop in a .wav file and your making a sound mod. It will match the guys lips to the sound so it looks realistic. I will make some mods to for the game mostly mini mods but i make mods for games like call of duty etc.

Have fun with that Rig Faust I'll upgrade this x-mas. Harley
