Hello

can anyone help me, i have got a lancity lcpet-3 cable modem, and i have an account with UPC, the problem is that they have limited my cable modem to 15k/s up/down streeam!!!!!!!THIS SUCKS LIKE HELL
and i've called them allot of times but they dont change the settings
i want to get the limit of the cable modem
so is there anybody who has got software to communicate with your cable modem? oresomebody who knows a pacth?
please help me!!

There are no patches here for uploads ! But there are some good tweaks here you might try! www.speedguide.net (http://www.speedguide.net) As far as uploads you are stuck with what you got unlees you are sure its not right. Then have your provider come out and check for problems at your end. If there are none at your end .Then thats proubly what you are capped at. Don't know for sure, But would get it check out. Just by asking to raise it won't work. Like I said it could be a proublem at your end. GoodLuck!

the problem is that other friend of mine with the same modem can get downloads at 150k/s!!!
that's a 100X factor more than me!!!
i think my modem is limited bij UPC, and they dont want to come over to fix it!
so i need some kinda program to change the 15 of my modem to 150!!
plz help me.....the tweaks wont work i cant get past the 15 k/s!!!
i've tried them all!
i need to fix my modem!

Are you sure your capped at 15KBps? That's only twice as fast as 56k.

Have you tried calling your provider. To come and check it. You may have some sort of proublem. You can do some checking at your own end to. Like reinstalling your TCP/Ip protocol and see if that helps or reinstalling your network card in a different slot. Plus check all your connections. These are a few things you can check before calling your provider. I hope this helps you out a little. Plus try some tweaks here at www. speedguide.net.

First of all the brick you own for a cable modem was the first introduced cable modem in most beta markets 3 years ago. The only problem with that is there provision instructions are locked programming sets (Most Cases). Honestly there is nothing a tech is going to do for you. If you’re lucky maybe TASC could help, but a field tech would have to contact them though.
