EXACTLY what is happening here In Windsor, Ontario with Cogeco@home now. Cogeco admits it.

So your saying u can work around this???
Exactly how is one suppose to go about "reinstalling the stack"??

And btw...assigning myself and ip, (i do get a dynamic ip, could use this as static one)might also solve it?

Thanks

I know the removing the entire network stack will solve this problem but doing that over and over is a real pain!!! when releasing and renewing the ip address it said that the DHCP server in not avaialbe!! but when the stack is reinstalled?? Is there an easier way, I know some other people that are having the same problem!!

Thanks!!!

What operating system?
Cable or DSL?
ISP?
Does it happen when you start your computer or while you are using it?

first is your modem synced and passing trafic??? if not power cycle it (unplug and plug then unplug for 30 seconds each)then if no ip try setting yourself up statically if you you still cannot get on go back to dynamic then call support to get them to trouble shoot and probably repush your info to the dhcp server also go to dos run a route -f flush then a route print (while dynamic) and if you get less than 6 lines you got a bad nic or bad drivers try reinstalling them

Ok, you've tried three operating systems and they all have the problem, and reinstalling the stack is the only thing that fixes it. Powerdown/up won't fix it.

What brand of NIC and what kind of driver are you using? What brand of modem? which ISP?
