Having problems with disconnects on new Bellsouth Alcatel ADSL modem. Will maintain connections on most machines for some time then inexplicably lose connection. I have the Cable/DSL Router set to PPPoE enabled with keep alive set. I especially notice the problem with my News Server (EasyNews) but the problem occurs with web browsing, IM's, basically any external connection. Does not necesarily occur during downloads (file downloads) but does occur regularly. I don't think there is anything wrong electrically or mechanically with any of the units involved. I am running triple boot Win ME/2000/Whistler(can't find a working Whistler driver for Linksys Etherfast LNE100TX NIC) on my primary machine. All other networked machines running Win 98SE or Win 98. I believe the problem primarily revolves around the Linksys - Alcatel setup but can't say for sure as BellSouth "does not support home networks" and will not give me any support for this whatsoever.
