Tweaks are great. It's sad to think most of the people on my subnet are probably getting those terrible speeds. Whats wrong with @home by the way? Are they just too cheap to get more lines? I'm referring to the 128kbps upload cap. I know this topic has been beat to death, but dang that cap makes me mad.

I got very similar results, but have had problems with other things as a result of the registry updates. The computer bogs down, I get odd errors with Windows Explorer, and the Office shortcut bar "stops responding". I love the extreme interenet speed, but it isn't worth having the rest of the computer end up being worthless.

Anyone else get these problems as a result of the registry updates, or am I alone here? Any suggestions? I have Cox@Home and I used the auto registry update (non-PPPoe).

Problems with tweakers? Oh yes. I just found one recently.

I had been using SpeedCorp.net's tweaker and it was awesome. Great download speeds. The upload speeds were down a little bit (this was before my cap), but it was worth it for the great downstream I was getting.

Then, the other day, I went to upload a 3 meg movie file to one of my websites and it would choke after anywhere from 20-80K into the send and the FTP server would reset.

At first I thought it was something with ATT @home with the changes they made recently here. I called my tech and he said there were no problems or restrictions that he knew about.

So, I zero'd out all the settings using the SpeedCorp utility and voila! Uploading was now doable.

I have since deleted the SpeedCorp utility and now use CableNut 4.02 and on Friday, during prime time, I was getting steady 700KB/ps speeds with spikes as high as 1.5MB/ps. That's the fastest I have ever been since getting @home in May of 1999.

Other than that particular episode, I have had no problems and I have also used the tweaks here when I first got started.
