But nothing happened when I run the anylyzer it still says that my RCWIN value is 65535. What gives?? I installed the patch and rebooted and retested and got the same thing so I rebooted again and same. Can someone help me?

Good morning Dawg76!

Can you redo the test and post it? Please remember to do away with your IP address at the top. :)

Change your Tcp1323Opts to 3, or download this: Patch (http://members.home.net/tweakshots/patch.reg) to fix it.

HalfLifer, does that patch work? What does it actually do?

I don't get any of this, he does not have to back up registry, he does not have to go back to default before appling new patch, just asking :confused:

Well this is what I have now:TCP options string = 020405b40103030201010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which is equal to MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 202400
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 2 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 50600
For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 8096 kbps (1012 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 3238.4 kbps (404.8 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = OFF

Time to live left = 116 hops
TTL value is ok.
Note: Since TTL is decreased by at least 1 with each hop, the value above is equal to your TTL minus the number of hops to forums.speedguide.net

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000
Precedence (priority) = 000 (routine)
Delay = 0 (normal delay)
Throughput = 0 (normal throughput)
Reliability = 0 (normal reliability)
Cost = 0 (normal cost)

Well that was sort of dumb on my part but thank you ! Turning the Tcp1323 Opts to 1 did it. How do these numbers look to you all??

How does one no what is the best RWIN Value I used 202400 because that seemed like what everyone with the cablenut Patch seemed to use. It most definately made a difference.

Lobo- No I don't have the Cablenut patch installed right now. Do I have to get rid of all the speedguide patch stuff or will the Cablenut patch overwrite it??

Thanks for all the help guys!!!!

It looks good but do this:
Please go to this http://www.dslreports.com/front/drtcp.htmlRL
Download DR. TCP to your desktop
Where it saids adapter settings, select your adapter
Where it says Windows sclaing- yes
Where it says Selective Acks-yes
Path MTU Discovery - yes
Black Hole Detection - No
TTL-64 or 32 (up to you)

Where it says Time Stamping, select No or yes, up to you
The choices I give above will not affect speed
Reboot for changes to take affect

Do not change any numbers in this box unless you know what you are doing.
A blank box only means that the default setting is being used :)

Hey Lobo what will this do for me that I haven't already have set in my registry?? Is the cablenut patch not for me then??

Thanx just wondering why the Dr. TCP patch

One you need to turn Path MTU Discovery to YES, yes cablenuts patch will work for you but his fast cable seetings would give you a RWIN of 204400 I believe, redo, install fast cable 9x, turn MTU discovery on, retest, repost :confused:

Yes Cablenuts will uninstall prior patches,
what OS are you on, see cablenuts patch would have put in correct values thus no Dr. TCP, tell me what OS and I'll tell you what to do :)

Lobo I am running win. 98. He are the results with the Rwin set to 204400:

256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

64240 (MSS x 44)

Cost = 0 (normal cost)

Thanx bud,

Click on cablenut 4.0 on desktop, click on adjuster, where it says MTU Discorvey put a 1,
click on save to registry at bottom, reboot, retest, repost :)

You need to install his whole patch, hers how:

Download 4.0
His patch will uninstall previous patchs
Install 4.0
Then install 4.0
Then on desktop click on cablenut 4.0
Click on ccs files
then click on cable
Select either normal cable or fast cable (See instructions)
this will enter settings
click on save to registry at bottem, reboot or it will not work.

If you decide to remove Cablenut's patch, use uninstaller in Cablenut 4.0 folder on desktop. This will take you back to Windows default.
