256 DSL Download Speed?

Could someone please tell me what the average download speed be for a 256 DSL line?

DSL (all communication lines, for that matter) lines are rated in bits, so a 256 kilobit line can download at 42 kilobytes, less overhead. 30 kilobytes would be a good number.
