Hey all,
I recently had to reformat my hard drive so I'm trying to get all my tweaks sorted again.

My ISP locks my MTU at 1478 (MSS 1438). My caps are 512/256 I have cablenut installed on XP with SP1 on a Netgear DG834 Router (latest firmware - I think). My NIC card is the nforce2 Nvidia NIC set at maximum throughput and Full duplex 100.

with the following settings:

Sorry for the poor layout.

Here is my TCP analyser result:

TCP options string = 0204059e01010402
MTU = 1478
MTU is not fully optimized for broadband. Consider increasing your MTU to 1500 for better throughput.
MSS = 1438
MSS is not fully optimized for broadband (although it might work well for slower connections). Consider increasing your MTU value.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 23008
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 23008

RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
506176 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
253088 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
126544 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63272 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):

Your RcvWindow limits you to: 920.32 kbps (115.04 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 368.128 kbps (46.016 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 60 hops

TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 11110000

Precedence (priority) = 000 (routine)
Delay = 0 (normal delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 1 (high reliability)
Cost = 1 (low cost)

I seem to get random page errors since reinstalling (i.e. If I click a webpage link I go to a 404 message but If I refresh it...it loads) It never used to happen so I'm a bit peeved.

Anyone got any suggestions?

What's your current speed

On some bandwidth tests I'm getting 464/198 but on others its as low as 230/50 on the speedguide picture test it used to be around 460 but now seems to be 360-390.

Also when downloading over torrent I get low speeds which (should only be half my bandwidth - like 15k but browsing is still slow....it never used to be).

Another thing (that could be related to buffer sizes and tcpwindowsize)....when pictures load they are buffered in small segments...lots of little improvements whereas before it would usually buffer about 3 times for a large 2000+ resolution image whereas now it buffers about 12 times.
