Hello, I finially got ticked off at my slow ass ADSL ISP, it just isn't fast anymore. I would like to purchase @home cable. They got some new offer this month, free installation and first month free, so i figure i should take the chance and go for it. I bet that this question has been asked already, but i would like to know which @home cable modem is the best? COGECO@Home gave me the option of choosing which modem i would like sent to me. The directed me to the @home website, and there was a list provided. The list was quite extensive, so i would like to know, in people opinion which cable modem for the @home cable service is the fastest? Sorry if i'm reasking the question, if it was asked already. Thank you in advance,
DiMSLeR
All cable modems are capable of speeds greater than what cable systems can currently support, so it really doesn't matter, at least not in the performance aspect. What's your options?

3COM, ASKEY, RCA, and Samsung
I've got the Samsung with Cogeco cable and it's great. I also heard 3com was good but I have now personnal experience with it.

i have a rca and i am pretty happy with it so far it is the second modem i resived from @home i forgot the fist 1...
Personally, I don't like anything RCA. :) However, I did use two different RCA models w/ AT&T@Home a few months back. I guess they are OK. I'm currently using the 3Com 'shark fin', which I like better than the RCAs. I never used a Samsung cable modem. As for Askey, never heard of them.

no modems I know of will give you better speeds than any other, they are all ok.what does matter is the quality of the splitters and end connectors and cable from the street to the modem.
on any splitters you or they use should be 1000mhz.also a dedicated line with no tv's on it is sometimes better too.or atleast some filters that the installer shoud have to isolate the tv's from the modem.we have used two different 3com modems ,GI sb2100 and sb3100,and the best data CMX110,all gave good speeds.
