What kind of mp3 player should I get?

I can't afford an Ipod even if I wanted to. Need it for the long trips. I need it to hold perferably at least 25 songs at 4 minutes each. So probably the 256mb ones. Which ones are good? I would prefer something I can pick up at the local walmart. Harley

Have you thought of buying a mp3 cd player? I bought one for my daughter and have been guilty of using it as well. You can fit about 150 songs on a cd. Maybe thats to bulky for you but just thought I would throw it out there. A quick search at bestbuy and I saw this. :)

How can you fit 180 songs on a cd? The most I have gotten was 25 on one cd before. What kind of cd do I need. That will work, I would prefer something compact though. Harley

Uses CDRs or CDRWs it reads data (Music) in MP3 format Saving tons of space per song compared to WAVE etc

If your going low Budget and have a Burner that is the way to go For sure

Figure a wav file (normal extracted cd audio) is 10MB per minute of music and an MP3 file is 1MB per minute of musice (averages). So you figure 5MB per song average and just fill the cd till it's busting at the seams :D

for compact you're talking about a solid state mp3 play, so a portable mp3/cd player would still be the size of a walkman, is that too big?

lol didn't even think about that! I hate the tri-cities! I'll I can hear in my head when I hear that term is some cheesy singers going "bay city, saginaw, midlan, fliiint" damn radio station jingles :irate: hmmm why do I have that associated with tri when it's four cities mentioned come to think of it... :confused:
