i've got an annoying problem. Now my internet works fine.. i cannot complain with that. The problem i am having is that every time i boot my computer i get an annoying delay in my boot time. the only time i see this is if i have my modem is plugged in. now if i unplug the ethernet cable that goes between my computer and Modem my computer will boot completely in about 30 seconds.but if i reboot with that cable plugged in it takes almost 2 minutes for my computer to boot.

i was wondering if there was any known fix for this problem? or am i just going to have ti unplug that cable everytime i have to reboot the computer?

i have PPPoE DSL connection. i have to use a dialer in order to connect.
any help is appreciated
thanx
jason

What pppoe client do you use you could get a router that would login in for you

i don't use a pppoe client to log in.. i use just the 1 that comes with windows. and i really don't wanna get a router .. kind of a waste of money.. especially for just having the 1 computer on the connection

The router would login for you and take care of the sercuirty so you don't have to wait 20 years to log on try thease things http://www.carricksolutions.com/pppoe/windowsxppppoe.php#7

13. How do I get the native PPPoE in Windows XP to reconnect if the connection is dropped?
