Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com/businessoptimal?chapter=4157740) for Linux, personally never used it since I don't use Linux but Kaspersky is top notch.

No, setup a suse 9.1 personal linux box for mythTV and other multimedia stuff

Honestly as long as you aren't running the box logged in as root (su - instead) you shouldn't worry too much, the worst that could happen is your /home/user could suffer ... not the entire system.

What I would recommend, however is running chkrootkit (http://www.chkrootkit.org/) and/or rootkit hunter (http://www.rootkit.nl/projects/rootkit_hunter.html) on a regular basis and keeping your system up to date. I'm not saying Linux can't be infected but the chances are slim if you if practice common security rules.

I'll look at both of those but i'd still like a virus scanner on there.
