Help new DSL subscriber

Hey I'm a new dsl subscriber and I really don't see a whole lot of difference between it and my dial up service when downloading stuff. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to change something with my pc.

You'll find a ton of terrific information on broadband connections and tweaking all over this site and this board. http://www.dslreports.com/tools has some great diagnostic and speed test tools for you to use as well, some of which will help you compare your new DSL connection to your old dialup.

Who is your ISP and what package did you purchase?

Conduct some performance tests to get an idea of how your connection is doing by using the speed tests at dslreports.com and 2wire.com, and by d/ling large files from fast sites - 3dfx.com, download.com, microsoft.com, etc. Post your results when finished.
