As much as I hate to..Con Edison just hit me up for a 1300.00 electric bill so Im gonna have to start turning off the machines at night. I know it was dumb for me to do but It wasn't bad in the beginning with 2-3 machines...Now with almost 25machines and 2 AC units running 24hrs a day it hurt me big time. My score will drop a lot now. I will keep them folding when customers start coming in but it won't be full time anymore...dammit I wish I made better money. :( I hope I didn't let the team down. The computers that I got offsite will continue folding part-time as well and I will keep recruiting new donors as time goes by. Hopefully I will have 50-60 machines offsite to keep me going. Its gonna be boring not seeing the big points every day.
Sorry. :(

Bummer
I lost my Toshiba last night but that's nothing compared to you. You pulled WUs when you could... and that's good for everyone. Thanks for staying in the game for so long. (football slap on butt)

It's all good. We are only asked to do what we can, and you have definately shown a good push.
BTW--We will have to talk some time. I am thinking about starting a cafe, and I need advice.

Ok feel free to ask away anytime. I can try to give you some advice. The cheapest thing u will have are the computers. The software is what will get ya.

PieWhat is the approximate start up cost? How many puters should I start with? 5? 10? Including everything but the building.
Thanks,
Ric
P.S. I really have no idea of what I could be getting in to. Just pushing the idea around.

Well I only started with like 3 Computers at first. I got Time Warner to use me as an Agent for Road Runner and they were Demo stations I had set up. I steadily increased to 15 machines now. I just have it as an addition to my computer Repairs to offset slow times.
For an internet cafe you can't just go out and buy software like you do for yourself. You need to get Site Licensing which can be a monthly or yearly plan. Before your move you should make sure that the intended site has access to High Speed internet before anything. Cable is probably the cheapest way to start off. All 25 of my machines run off one cable modem plus I rent out access to tenants in the building and it works great.

You will remain in the top 100 in my book! What a valiant effort you have displayed along with being a wonderful inspiration. Thank you! We all do what we can do...when we can...and no one could ask more. Fold on!!! :p

Why not see if your customers could donate? Maybe have a tip jar and let them know its for a cure for cancer? Just an Idea. Harley

The majority of them are kids. :( Hopefully if things get better again and I expand the place Illl at least re-enable 1/2 of them full time.
