View Full Version : back reg
can someone explain how to back up the windows reg as i want to try and add these patches again my conn went to snails pace and ive just reformatted if you can help please reply so i can try the patches and see what works for me thanks.
also i have adsl are the cable patches what i should be useing ie the speed guide speed patch
Open regedit:
Start | Run | type: regedit <enter>
Then export all branches to a file on your hard drive.
Here is a step by step, hope this helps:
First bring up REGEDIT, look in Windows file or I believe you can just type REGEDIT in your run box and hit OK.
Under Registry at the top of the box, click on that, now click on Export Registry File, a box will come up asking where you want to export it to, just put it in your C drive, then name it at the bottem of box, Registry.
Click on save.
Now if you ever get in trouble or want the old regestry back, bring REGEDIT back up and click on Registry and click on import registry file, go to your C drive and click on registry and click open, reboot and your good to go.
thanks alot ive done it now and can start playing about with these patches, my conn is 107 down and 15 up???????? it should be 480 down and 220 up thats what i used to get maybe ill ring BT do a line check, thanks again
