Hey all. I would like to know if it is possible to impose a slower lan speed on Windows XP. I use Pro. I would like to reduce my high speed internet temporarily down to modem speeds levels. I downloaded a nifty little tool from this site called TCPOptimizer and set it to Dialup. After rebooting I got back on the internet (I use DSL with a Linksys DSL Router/Wireless AP) and I did not notice any speed reductions. I know this is an odd request, to intentionally slow down windows lan speeds, but I need to find a way that I can slow my lan/internet temporarily and then restore full speed after I am done. If anyone knows of a way to do this, I'd be most grateful. Thanks for your time and any help you may be able to lend.

LAN Speed can be slowed down by changing the parameters of the Network Card (NIC) to 10Mb/sec. Look at the NIC properties.
As foe Interent: Can I Monitor my LAN, control the usage of the Internet, and Network Resources by other computers from my main computer? (http://www.ezlan.net/monitor.html)

Hmmm, I don't see where to do that at. But actually I need to get it a whole lot slower than that. As in down to 56k level. Same as dial-up.
Netlimiter is a program to cap the bandwidth usage (up and down) by program or for your whole system, sounds like this is what your looking for but it's not a free program.
