View Full Version : Slipsteaming XP Service packs
I know how to slipstream a service pack but was wondering if you can slipstream multiple service packs. I have at home service pack 1 which included the virtual machine. I want to slipstream SP1 and SP2 in Windows XP. Is this possible or will it cause problems.

SP2 contains all that is in SP1, so you would only have to slipstream sp2 into your XP cd.
Actually, service pack 2 would have everything that service pack 1a has. Microsoft introduced service pack 1a after they were ordered to no longer offer Virtual Machine(JAVA). I've got the original service pack 1 at home which has the virutal machine. Otherwise, I would only slipstream SP2.

Oops missed the virtual machine part. I don't know why it wouldn't work, I was just thinking it's easier to slipstream one SP versus two. You can download the Micro$oft virtual machine here. (http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/javavm.html)
Thanks Dude, I'll download the VM from that site and only slipstream RC2.

I should have mentioned this earlier, Autostreamer (http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=188337) is a small utility that will slipstream the sp for you. Norm originally posted this gem. :thumb:
