Need comments about PCX1100

Just rolling down my never ending trouble shoot list. I have a PCX1100 Toshiba modem. I had heard from a fellow cable modemer that a 1110 modem greatly increased performance from a 1000(or something close to that) its on the game forum.

Anyone know if it would worth while to see if the cable company can install something better than my PCX1100? I am about tweaked out. I get better performance with my 56k modem for online gaming. I sufer high ping spikes.

High latency is usually the result of poor routing and/or an overcrowded network/backbone. If this is the case, a new modem won't help. Use tracerts to pinpoint the problem.

I have the PCX1100. I got it yesterday hooked up to a NIC and it works great.

I've had the PCX1100 for about a month now. Been working great for me.

The 1000's were bad for us here in Indy...they had a tendency to heat up in the back where the power cable came into the modem and introduce noise onto the cable...they've seemed to have corrected that problem with the 1100s and as far as I've seen, the 1100s have been pretty good overall...
