How would I do this and what are the advantages. I just started folding today and my usernam is wbastien on team 15 :) Do I need to register or do I just put that in? I'm on a AMD computer, do I need to change anything?

Assuming your running XP or 2000
Download fah5console.exe from stanfords site to a directory called c:\F@H

#1 Start/Run/CMD Enter
cd\f@h
fah5console -configonly <Enter>
follow the prompts...install as a service and thats it!
when its done and ur sure you entered all the correct info just reboot and restart windows. Hit CTRL-ALT-Delete after you reboot and see that its running in the background,

You can also use FireDaemon to run it as a service. Get it here (http://www.firedaemon.com/downloads/FireDaemon-Lite-1_6-GA.exe) if you want to try it. :)

I have some stuff here you can use for single and multi processer machines. Unless you want to fold for me ;) edit the config file in notepad to your username. After that just run the EXE and your done!

If you download and run FAH 5.0 it will ask you if you want to run as a service during install. :thumb:

Definitely suggest it. It's nice having this option now as a service. No need to worry about forgetting to launch it now when turning on computer. :thumb:

Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but for the overclockers...this new version is supposed to work better by checking the overall speed of your cpu cycles and adjusting if needed.....

I'll be testing that part out this week, possibly. Waiting on one stick of new Crucial 400..
