I'm running folding3.exe and want to go to 4.exe. Do I have to wait until a WU is done before I do the upgrade or can I do it on the fly? If I can do it on the fly, do I need to un-install 3.exe and then install 4.exe or can I just install 4.exe over the top of 3.exe?

I won $200.00 last night on the lottery!

I would definitly wait till you finish the WU especially if its a big point one.

Should be no problems with stopping the wu and installing fah4, however the key work is should, so if its more than 50% finished I'd wait until its finished to install the upgrade. Also by the end of the month Stanford should be releasing the newer version 5.

Should be no problems with stopping the wu and installing fah4Correct you are. You can stop, uninstall, install the new, and restart without skipping a beat. I conducted the test on a WU that was 15% done (not a big one). Didn't want to risk it on a big guy.

On the upside… you can stop folding at any point, uninstall the old version and load the new version without a problem (did it on 5 machines). Version 5 is pretty cool. I have a few more machines to update but they’ll be easy.

On all my folders I take the new release and rename it to fah.exe

Then just copy it to the folding directory in each of my pc's. Don't have to change any shortcuts that way as they are already set to fold with fah.exe.

Makes things so much simplier, especially on large farms.
