Just got it in. This thing is NICE. Very solid construction, very G5-like, sweet drive bezel covers. I think I might do a short review of it, just the basics, but with my new Antec modular PSU, this thing will be the epitome of clean.

Okay, maybe not. Lian-Li needed to center the holes for the PSU wires, because I had to use all my modular cables in order to reach all the components. It's a bastard to route cables effectively, since the hole for PSU wires is on the far side of the case instead of more centered, but ah well. Another project to work on.

I bought another flip-down bezel since I was going to use two DVD drives, but dammit it doesn't come with holes big enough to use the screws and washers where they need to be. The bezel is exactly the same as the one that comes stock with the case, EXCEPT the bottom drill holes are too small and the stock flip-down bezel has an integrated washer for the screws. You also have to remove the front tray plate of your optical drives or the bezel won't work. Anyway, I've decided do stick with my new 8x DVD-RW/+RW burner as the sole optical in the system, since it burns at 40x anyway (more speed than I need really) and reads DVD-ROMs at 12x.

Not as heavy as a G5 case, but damned if it doesn't look just as nice. With my apartment being the dust collector it is, I'm sure I'll be cleaning this thing out twice a week. Matches my silver 213T pretty well, too.

The PC runs noticeably cooler and it's actually really quiet, except that I can hear my hard drives grinding during use now. I might put some Akasa on the side panels and see if it reduces it at all...don't think it will, though.

I have since put the wheels back on, since sliding in and out of my desk's cubbyhole tore the wood up something fierce.

Yeah, it's cool, things also seem to run a lot cooler (I can't feel heat emanating from behind my desk anymore), but there's much more noise seepage, especially from my Raptor. Once my 6800 Ultra gets here, maybe it'll become a whine box. The WORST is it get dusty inside very easy.

Nice case Burke...Lian-Li make an excellent product. Solid, elegant, quiet and easy to work in.
Nice setup with the Sata's and the system itself too.

Thievery Corp? Burke, I am suprised - I used to go to 18th St lounge in DC all the time. SteveR from Thunderball started the label I believe.

Thought you were into country for some reason.

I thought Eric Hilton and Rob Garza from Thievery Corp did...

Nope, I'm all about the Corp, Ursula 1000, Blue States, stuff like that. Jazz, bossanova, samba beats, world music, downtempo electronica, some IDM, jazz-based drum 'n' bass. No country here, yo

Won't look too bad once you do something about that black cd drive sticking out like sore thumb.

so, is that some sort of heat shield between the ps and board? or is it just for air flow?

The SATA cables in the "before" pic are the standard 18-inch; the ones in the "after" pic are 36-inch.

Thank you for the quick response. You did a very nice job in cabling your PC V1000. I have one as well and would like to cable it up like that.

Once again, thanks for the information.

Too much work.
Are you kidding me? It'll take 5 minutes tops. All you need is a roll of velcro and scissors. :)

After putting that much work into that new case, you call that too much work?
