You do need to set Mailwasher up with your email account information. Basically Mailwasher lets you view the mail while it is still server side, and then you can decide whether you want to delete it, or bounce and delete it. Once you've deleted the mail that you have considered spam, it adds it to the "blacklist", and then you can let it download to your machine.
Are you using the free version? If so, what version? I have an older version, which has a lot more options then the newer, free versions.
I have Mailwasher Pro, and I believe this is free. I got it from http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-12.html
It says to read the file for installation instructions. The trouble is I cant ready anything in notepad due to a Trojan curruption some time ago. So I just downloaded the Mailwasher and extracted it, and then installed. It was asking me for some path to use for my emails but I didnt know what to enter..Do you think I should reinstal?
Or if you know of a better free Email spam blocker i'll use it.

If you don't have a virus scanner, you can download AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php) for free.
You can also use http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ housecall to scan your pc.
After you get the virus off of your computer, you can use Window's system file checker to replace the currpted notepad.
ok. I am virus free, how can I replace my notepad? I am running 98

It's the same info entered into outlook for your mail account.
Open outlook and go to tools, accounts. Then check the properties for your mail account. The info you want is under the servers tab.
pop = receive, smtp = send. If you haven't entered any info in outlook you need to get that from your service provider. (ISP)

I have two primary emails one from Yahoo and msn. Is Outlook crucial for Mailwasher to function properly?

No, it works stand alone. You just have to setup your accounts in it, for it to work. You mentioned outlook in your first post, so I went from there. It sounds like you don't have outlook setup correctly if that is what you are using to check your mail.
Yeah I dont have Outlook setup. Mailwasher was asking me for information for Outlook.so I thought maybe I needed it. I was able to add my msn account thanks for your help :thumb:

Mailwasher can import the account info from outlook so you don't have to enter it all in by hand. I would say it found outlook installed so it was just giving you that option. It didn't know if you were using it or not. I'm glad you got it working. :)
