First, to those who helped me about a month or so back with my million virus problems on my computer, thank you very much :)

Anyway, latest problem deals with Internet Explorer. (Win XP Home Edition, latest updates installed) Recently, either my brother (most likely, he's ALWAYS fooling around on the computer) or sister deleted the IE icon and did a bunch of random things around the computer, he's 13, so I can't fault him, I was ruining this computer a few years ago too. Anyway, I wasn't sure how to recreate the IE icon, so I go through My Computer and just type in the website in the bar there and it works fine. On the start menu, there is an icon for IE, but when I click it, it opens and gives me "page cannot be displayed" page under it. I check the internet settings, and everything seems consistent from accessing it through My Computer or through the icon on the start menu. I've reinstalled but do not get the IE icon on the desktop. Also, AOL's internet browsing (yeah yeah, my sisters "love AOL mail" and it's all they like, a nonsuccessful conversion process, sorry guys) doesn't work anymore, and not that many of you even use AOL, but maybe you can help me figure out what may be the problem seeing that I can use IE but on AOL it doesn't work, nor does the buddy list. Not sure if the installation of mozilla has anything to do with it.

That was a lot of rambling, I apologize.

Go to control panel, look for the icon: Internet options. Open it. Click on the advanced tab. Look for: Show Internet Explorer on the Desktop, and check that, click apply, and then ok.

Click on Start, and find the IE icon, right click on it, and scroll down until you see: send to, and select desktop. Then drag that shortcut into your quick launch bar at the bottom of your screeen opposite side of the clock. After you do that, you can delete that shortcut from your desktop, and you can use the quick launch IE icon to open IE.
