My computer is downloading things at 45kbps at maximum. I also have another computer but it's downloading at speeds of 290 sometimes more than 300 kbps. And I don't have a router either. I'm just directly connecting each of the computers to the cable modem one at a time. Can anyone please help me fix this? It gets real annoying when I try to upload stuff to my website when I can only upload at this speed. And it takes forever to download really large applications. Well thanks in advance for the help. Oh and here are the five questions answered.
1. I have a Cable Connection.
2. I'm subsribed to Charter Pipeline and the advertised speed is 384kbps.
3.
TCP options string = 020405ac0103030001010402
MTU = 1492
MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput.
MSS = 1452
MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for maximum throughput.
Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 10164
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 10164
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
63888 (MSS x 44)
bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test):
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 406.56 kbps (50.82 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 162.624 kbps (20.328 KBytes/s) @ 500ms
Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband.
MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON
Time to live left = 53 hops
TTL value is ok.
Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF
Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON
IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 00000000
