DHCP doesn't renew

I'm on Blueyonder Broadband in the UK, and have a Linksys BEFSR41 Cable modem router and a Motorola Surfboard 4100 Cable modem.

Recently, the DHCP renew/release cycle has become b0rked, and the router no longer automatically renews the DHCP lease, meaning that I must, manually, once a day renew the DHCP lease.

Can anyone work out what the problem is or how to fix it?

First hunch is upgrade firmware if you're not at the latest version.

I'm not familiar with Blue Yonder, and how they do their setups, if they run MAC authentication, Host name, or simply pure DHCP. But if MAC based, turn off modem for at least 30 minutes, power cycle router, then after router is fully booted up, power up modem.
