I tried them this morning, manually set preferences to as to have AA and AF cranked up, instead of "Application Preference".
Those little dots in the textures are no more. The usual spots that I'd see them right away in previous drivers when using manual settings, no more! :thumb:
It's also listed in the bug fixes on these drivers.

So did you see a marked improvments / Performance Ratio ??
I've never had any problems when running 1280 X 1024 with App preference ... Just wondering if the improvment is worth the update ...

ok what about CTD? I never cared AA or AF anyway..to me those features never did anything for me in most games.
I'm seeing a significant performance increase with this release myself.
I was able to run BFV on 4AA and 8AF forced with the last Omega release. Still these are doing a much better job in that and other games such as Farcry and DC.

"Felt" the same to me...but I was running fine before. The ONLY glitch I had in all prior drivers (meaning ATI and Omega...all versions since BF:V came out) was the polka dot problem on certain metal surfaced if I tried running manually set AA/AF.
I didn't compare FPS yet in the 4.6 against what I ran before, as I'm running with manually set AA/AF, and before I only ran App Pref. I'll run App Pref tonight and compare FPS's...but honestly I forget what I was averaging before...bouncing around in the 70's and 80's, sometimes bumping 100 or so.
So if I finally install my 9600XT I should be good to go?
Currently I'm still running the GeForce4 Ti4200.

I did a direct map to map and server to server comparison. Fps with the 4.6 was identical to the fps I was getting with my DNA drivers.
I turned on AA 4x and AF2x and my FPS dropped 40-50% with the 4.6 . Never tried it with the DNA driver so I have no comparison here.
I see that AA gets rid of the jaggies but what does AF do, other than make the chat text fat looking? What would be the suggested settings?

AF (anisotropic filtering) is how the card handles the textures and details of 3D objects as they fade into distance.

I tried it early on the bridge on Irving and saw the difference. Real nice but the 40% FPS hit just ain't worth it.

Thats really weird, BFV should be running flawlessly with your system. Did you install the 16MB 1.02 driver? enabled PB? defrag after install (textures and sound install very fragmented)? and I know u said you quit, but in case you change your mind make sure to delete the game folder and clean registry before re-installing.
Wierd
Whose cruel idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have a "S" in it?

RAM.
Seriously....go to a gig. I noticed a HUGE difference (performance increase/smoothness) when I upgraded my RAM back in the '42/DC days. And BF:V is even more system intensive then those. I went from 512, to 768, to 1.0 gigs, and now I'm at 1.2 gigs. (those last .2 gigs were freebies, just tossed them in for the heck of it)
And what's your hard drive? 8 meg cache 7,200rpm at the minimum helps. WD Raptor helps even more!
