I am wondering how to report a hacker? I got a call at work (@home tier 1 tech for those who dont know) about this person getting hacked on his computer, and it's been happening for a couple months now, and ATT@home has done nothing to help this guy out. he's emailed the abuse@home.com email, and called at least 10 times about his problem, and each time we say we will take care of it, and he's still getting hacked. So I tried to find out info for this guy, but didn't find out much. He's using Black Ice defender, and I looked at their website on what to do, they didn't help much. I couldn't find anything on the ATT website, except the abuse email. I tried the altavista and ask.com search engines, but I must be using wrong search terms or something, cuz I get crap for answers.
So anyway, I did the best I could, but only gave him emails and phone numbers he already had, but did give the the Better BusinesS Bureau complaint website, maybe the BBB can help out, and ATT corporate email's, but I doubt those will help.
Anyway, didn't mean to say all that, but it's frustrating trying to find this out, and not find anything. Thanks for your help.

What kind of attacks are they? Are they always from the same address?
First off, you need to include a little info with your emails to @home. Just copy and past e the info from BlackIce to your email, then organize it so it's readable. I quit using BlackIce last month when my rent expired on upgrades, so from what I remember, get that info from your attack tab.
Now make sure where the attack is comming from. If it's not from an @home account, they arn't going to help you. They would like you to send that email to the company that holds the account of the person, person's attacking your friend. You can find this by putting the DNS or ISP address in a search on a Whois site.
Also keep in mind that they may indeed be taking action. Your not going to get much info from them about what is done about it.
You need to recommend Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/) firewall. The free version is great and outperforms Blackice.Read here (http://grc.com/lt/scoreboard.htm) to learn why.
Lastly, this tool:Zone log analyzer (http://zonelog.co.uk/) will tell you what all those "hits" are and compile a e-mail report for the abuse.com sites that get's result!

Well if abuse@home.com isn't helping out try contacting the ISP of the hacker. I assume you have the IP address of the intruder, do a who is on that IP and contact the owner of the IP block. The standard of abuse contacts is abuse@domain.com or .net
you can do a whois here http://www.network-tools.com/

When you say he is getting hacked, do you mean that there has been a serious break-in attempt, or is he just seeing port probes?
Regrettably, the latter appear to be fair game, based on a recent court case. I don't agree, and maybe you can get his ISP to do something, but you may find that they will not.

If all else fails get ur own back on him and do what hes being doing to u. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/biggrin.gif
*Warning* This idea could go wrong if the "hacker/cracker" decides to send ur details to the abuse email addy http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/frown.gif

thats the thing, the hacker is with ATT @home too, and from what the person told me, he lives in the same apartment complex. When this person gets online, the hacker takes over his account or something, and the guy can't use his computer.
I liked ZoneAlarm a lot too, I thought it looked and felt a lot more professional than Black Ice, I"ll probalby go back to that.
