Well After about 5 hours I finally got my networked computer's to share my DSL internet connection.
Here is what im running:
-Windows 98/SE on both systems
-Nortel 1 meg dsl modem
-2 10meg/s ethernet cards
I ran a cable from phone jack to dsl modem. Then from there I ran a cable from my dsl modem to my gateway computer (server). Then I ran a cable from my ethernet card to my client computer to make the network.
SERVER SETUP:
NOTE YOU MUST USE TCP/IP Protocal!
Right click on network and click properties. Then find this protocal:
TCP/IP-> Your nic card
Set your ip address to 192.168.0.1
Then set your submask to 255.255.255.0
Reboot...
CLIENT SETUP:
NOTE YOU MUST USE TCP/IP Protocal!
Right click on network and click properties. Then find this protocal:
TCP/IP-> Your nic card
-set your ip address to 192.168.0.2
-then set your submask to 255.255.255.0
-For your dns but 192.168.0.1
-For your gateway but this 192.168.01
reboot..
Now I tried a lot of nat and proxy programs and this is the only one I could get to work
-WinProxy 3.0R1p
It pretty much configured it's self so that was just great. Anyway this worked for me.
Hope this helped someone. I know I could of used the help http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
Any questions email me at grimy1976@hotmail.com
