Have always run an up-to date version of AVG, but it didn't catch a whole host of things that Avast did. Very impressed with the Avast trial version.
The only thing it found that it couldn't also fix is Win32:CTX
AVG doesn't catch it, Avast does but can't repair or delete any files, my Internet connection is too sketchy to try Housecall...any other ideas appreciated.
Thanks
AVG's not alone in being unable to detect this.

They all say the same things including the difficulty of your job ahead.

Good luck.
Croc.
Sounds nasty. One idea if you can't remove the files would be to slave the HD to another system. Boot from that system and run the virus cleaner on the slaved drive (no files should be in use). Replace any corrupted files.

Thanks for the tips guys:)
Thought of taking the drive out as mentioned, but at this point it's the only healthy PC up here. My laptop can't be used and my gaming system over at DePlano's has been freezing up kinda randomly ever since it got a hard knock a few weeks ago. It can f@h and surf but if I try to run an AV program or HalfLife it just freezes up.
I can hook it to DePlano's system eventually, but right now I have HIS drive slaved to my machine so I can scan IT:D
