I got norton 04. I just got my comp fixed have not reinstalled it. So right now iam behind the xp built in fire wall. I was wondering though. Is there a big differnce on which is better the xp or norton. The only thing i see is that xp takes up less memory then norton.

XP firewall is better then nothing, but has some serious issues still. Ive heard that SP2 will address some of those issues. As for Norton I havent used their software firewall, but I have heard some pretty good things about it. Personally I suggest Zone Alarm.

I did not like Norton at all and got rid of a perfectly good copy of it in favor of Zone Alarm. Norton didn't tell me the things I wanted to know and I found that at times, it was leaving ports open to exposure.

Not a fan of Nortons firewall, except for their business network firewall that's combined with Symantec CE, called Symantec Client Security in their enterprise grade products. But their Nortons version for home retail users....yuck.

Give Kerio Outpost firewall a try.

XP's firewall is better than nothing......so turn it on right away, until you get something better.
