Hello, I'm a total newbie when it comes to networking. However, I have a small issue with my Nexland ISB SOHO where a red light blinks and I'm unable to use the internet. I was opening some UDP and TCP ports to host a game server and went to hit the reset button on my router so I could get started. Instead the router did some odd sequences of connecting and disconnecting my internet connection over and over then finally stopped. Although it says I have a local area connection, I cannot search the internet or use anything internet related. I'm even unable to open my setup page, it only opens the frames from the cookies cache. A red light is blinking in error...

Also, when I unplug the router and use the modem directly to my PC, it works fine (which is how I'm able to make this post). I've tried many sorts of things such as unplugging then plugging back in, resetting again which only repeats the aforementioned process, and rebooting my PC. I'm using SurfBoard SB4100 Cable Modem through a Charter connection. Any suggestions?

Have you tried the hard reset?

Throw DIP switch 1 to "On" (down)
Insert power cord for 4 seconds
Then flip DIP switch 1 to "Off" (up) for 1 second, then "On" again for 1 second, then "Off" again for 1 second.

If successful, you should see the reset sequence in the lights. Then unplug the power for a few seconds, then plug back in...and start from scratch like you just took it out of the box.

Varlan,

Were you able to get this issue resolved? I hit the same problem two days ago on my ISB SOHO.

I have already tried the hard reset many times but to no avail. :(
