I did a small mod to my case last night. I have two hard drive bay coolers, Antec I think. Each one has two 40mm fans, mounts in a 5.25 bay and blows air across the hard drive. Last night I put my own can controller in so I could adjust the fan speed. Home made out of a high wattage potentiometer I scrounged up. Of all the fans in my PC these two bay coolers mack the most noise, the reason for the mod.;) Anyway with the fans on full speed my two Maxtor's run at about 19 c with a case temp of 21 according to MBM. I just set them to the slowest speed and their temps are 28 for my C drive and 24 for D. Quit a difference, almost 10 c. I know some people are skeptical as to whether these bay coolers actually work. Seems to me they do.:D

I agree....keeping your HD's cool is one of the best things you can to for maintaining reliable drives.

lol, now that I know how hot they get when I turn down the fan speed, I never turn it down. Next mode will be to remove the last mode. The purpose of the mode was to quite down my PC. I'll just go back to plan A, and turn up the volume. ;)
