someone (was) playing on the server with my name

i eventually came in and asked them to change it, which they didn't. couldn;t get them to say anything at all.

don;t know if they were trying to pose as me and acting like a tard or if they were being civil and nice. either way it wasn;t me.

kinda sucks not knowing what someone said or did using your "official" handle.

I'm sure their are alot of Faust's out there using that name... doesn't necessarly mean they were posing as you... Probably just a guy that happened to pop into the server...

I've been kicked for using *Cho* I was also banned on a Cs Server...actually I posted about it here when it happened. Hopefully he wasn't screwing around with your name. Perhaps he didn't even know there was an admin with the same name ? ( such as my case with the Cs Server) If that was the case though he should have at least had the curtesy (sp?) to respond to your messages and comply.

I can't stand copycats. Granted "Faust" may be used by a couple of other slightly older players, but when I see my name used...I know it's on purpose to ire me, quite a original nick.

Earned the nickname "StoneCat" in college. :D

A few years later, got heavy into online gaming when Quake 1 came out, played with that nickname. Shortly after that, joined a Quake 1 clan called "The Melankee's"...named after the move "A Clockwork Orange". Every member of The Melankee's was named "YeOlde<nickname>".

I've kept it ever since.

yeah, could be. i am not used to it either.

all in all, i realize that there is a higher chance of someone using the name Faust just because it (err.... actually, he) is a known literary character. that's why i didnt flip out or anything. just asked him to change it. i actually don;t care if someone uses is elsewhere on other servers.... as it isn;t really my name. but, if they were to use the name smaier69 (my original/actual name), i would be a bit more peeved..... that would be just a bit too coincidental.
