Power Level -17 dBmV ?

Should be no lower than -15dBmV, and really for a buffer I like -10 or higher.

Make shure all connections on the cable are tight and no corrosion. Thats worth a service call!

Deffinatly worth a service call. This could be the cause of your unstable connection you have been talking about lately. -17 is way to low.

Acceptable Signal Levels
Receive: -15dbmV to +15dbmV
Transmit: 30dbmV to 55dbmV
Carrier/Noise Ratio: >30dB

Your downstream is out of spec, How many splitters is your cable modem behind? Make sure the splitters are clean on the headends of any crud, and check signals again.

What Cable Modem do you currently have?

I see your Signature says Motorola(Doesn't say the model), you can try going to http://192.168.100.1/signal.html

ok here is what I have from checking let me know if this is correct or bad cause I am running into a issue with freezing on BF1942.
Downstream---------------------------------------below
Freq 543000000 Hz Locked

Signal to noise 37db

QAM 64

Network Access Control Object is ON

Power level 12dbMv

UPstream---------------------------------------below

Freq 33000408 Hz Ranged

Symbol rate 2.560 Msym/s

Power Level 42dbMV

I look at the Logs and it has alot of things for Critical and debug etc.. does this mean a problem cause if so then this is where my problem is that makes my BF1942 freeze up ramdomly during multi game play?????

Your signa levels are fine, your signal levels basically tell you the quality of your line, if they were out of spec, you would be experiencing connection problems and packet loss.

Are you experiencing any connection problems, packet loss, etc? Try bypassing the splitter and connect the main cable feed directly from the drop to your cable modem and check your signals again.

This guy was have same promblem now sure if it got mettioned in pm but here ya go

They sent me an email and I did what they told me and now I got this: Power Level -10 dBmV . Now time to get the speed up. I'll start over and post my speeds tomorrow, thanks for the help!!!!

btw this is what i did....
(i had a splitter going to the tv but i took that off as well)

1. With your computer powered down, unplug the power cable from the
back of the modem. If the power cable of your modem doesn't remove from
the back of the cable modem, you will need to unplug the modem from the
wall power outlet
2. Unplug the RJ-45 (Ethernet cable - looks like a phone cord but
larger) cable from the back of the modem
3. Unplug the RJ-45 cable from the back of the computer
4. Wait 5 minutes
5. Plug the RJ-45 cable into the computer
6. Plug the RJ-45 cable into the modem. You should hear a soft click
sound each time the Ethernet cable is plugged in
7. Plug the power cable back into the wall outlet or the cable modem
8. Wait for about 5 minutes 9. Turn your computer on
