Passwording

I'm looking to put a password on my cable internet connection. I have a D-Link DI-624 router, and my ISP does not allow me to switch to a PPPoE account. I'd like to be able to use the computer without being online.

Does anyone know how to set up a password in XP?

The ppoe account doesn't work with cable at all different protocol. I would just suggest leaving online just use the dlink to block the traffic and or software firewall. If you are worried about sercurity.

Set the router to block all outbound traffic.

When you want to get online, log in to the router and open up outbound traffic again.

Tedious, but security/control always is.
