I wouldn't mind being an admin, i play quite abit during all hours.
What does being an admin consist of ?? I don't want anything to do with resetting the server and such but I don't mind keeping an eye on ppl who are cheating or tk'ing and so on.
There were a few ppl on tk'ing left and right before you got there today YOSC, I just wanted to kick them but I couldn't so I killed them. Made me feel better even though it was wrong.

Above post noted Cat. I hope BF/VC plays better than EOD. If so count on a moderate monthly from me. On that note whats a fair amount we should all be kicking in to keep the project healthy?

And a tough question to answer..as that depends on how many peeps pitch in. My goal is to hand over to Rich a minimum of $125.00 per month. No matter how short up collections are each month, I still pay him 125. That's 50% the average going rate for a dedicated 2 meg server co-location. And BTW our server has nudged 4 megs at peak playing times with a full house!
Collection totals each month have varied from 30 - 75 bucks. The past month has been much more generous in donations because of the hardware for the server I've been posting about (1 gig RAM, and the Cheetah SCSI drive/Adaptec 160 controller), and SG's very own Philip made a generous donation.
A dozen people tossing in 10 bucks/month would get us there! Whatever can be donated..it all adds up. One person right off the batt started made a promise to pitch in 25/month every month. Some others throw in 5 or 10 bucks a month. Others have thrown in one time donations of 25, 30, 40 bucks. Even if people alternated months, throwing in 15-25 whenever they can...it all adds up.
Here's the scoop on my relationship with Rich. His business is right next door to my office, literally on the other side of the wall. I've worked with him for many years on some other projects. I've given him a decent amount of business, hosting of my clients websites and vanity POP e-mail, and this year brought him a frame relay client with a couple of satellite offices.
Because of the above, he lets me co-locate, at "not full price". But as he slowly rolls over some of his current T-1 traffic to his OC-3...(which he's slowly doing this spring)...he is going to be more aware of our server which consumes considerable traffic. And I can't scream for "quality of service" if I'm riding for free, or barely making any payments. So my goal, is to pay him at least 50% of what he would get for a 2 meg co-lo. That should keep him somewhat happy. And if our server "gets onto his radar" as he calls it...he won't mind as much. By "getting onto his radar"...that means we're really standing out on his bandwidth monitoring....cutting deep into his bandwidth...sending those MRTG bargraphs waaaay up there.
Once this 15 meg chunk of OC-3 starts getting used by more of his clients, if our server is sucking up a big chunk of that pipe so as to slow down his clients....if we're not a profitable customer of his...guess who gets the axe? Yeah, us. He's not going to upgrade that 15 meg to a 30 meg pipe or a 45 meg pipe by the above reasoning. But if we're consistanly throwing him money each month...and the current 15 meg pipe starts getting crowded....he is more likely to consider upgrading his bandwidth to keep all paying customers happy!
So that's my goal....to keep Rich happy. Now if you find yourself spending a lot of time on the server, all I'm asking is to please help by chipping in. It all adds up. I'm not looking to make money, I'm looking to toss it all to Rich so that we can keep our server going, and collecting enough so that we can meet my goals for payment with me having to keep digging deep into my own pockets. That gets expensive, I was pitching in for 2 servers before. Now it's just 1, since COD is done (although I was pitching in less for that one, since it barely used any bandwidth).
