View Full Version : infantry problem.
I dont get how it works!!
I can spot nicely, but I dont understand how you first.
I call for a spot and get one. I line up my vehicle in the general direction of my shot usually.
I right click and see the shot. I press the left button and see the shot go off, but I NEVER see the shot explode!! I watch my shell count go down, but I dont understand why I never actually see anything explode. How the heck does it work and what am I missing?
thanks! I believe I could be a real asset here, if I only had a clue!

I had the same problem for a while .. You are over shooting or under shooting .... After you fire the Screen should switch as the spotter watches the path of the shell from his position ... If he looks straight up at the sky then away from the Target then you are over shooting ..... Those cannons shoot REALLY Far .... So you generally need to lower your cannon arm. If he is looking towards your direction and you never see an exlopsion then you are undershooting ...
I had to lower mine Way down ... Hell I was shooting way off the other side of the map for a while ... lol

I don't even bother... I don't understand how all that crap works... I'll just grab a T-72 instead :P

Also , I was assuming that you meant to say Artillery instead of infantry ? If so , When you say general direction , You mean when you are looking through the scouts snapshot you line up the arrow ( looks like a small tank on the perimeter of the circle around the shot ) so that it points directly towards the center ?
If not ... Then I hve no clue what the hell yer talkin bout ... lol

Spotter has called for arty and you see the yellow field of view icon.
Right click and note the new screen that appears. Find the icon that represents your Vehicle. Turn your vehicle (really the weapon platform on your vehicle) in the general direction of the target. Note that you should actually see the nose of your vehicle icon move till it points to the center of the arty recticle.
So now your pointed in the right direction. Left click once and DO NOTHING. The overhead camera will track your shot FROM THE OVERHEAD POINT OF VIEW ABOVE THE SPOTTER TOWARDS THE TARGET. Use the azimuth (left/right slider on top of screen) and elevation (up/down slider on left side of screen) to correct till the shot lands where you want.
Keep in mind that depending on the position of your vehicle and the type of arty you're firing your vehicle may well move a little every time you fire.

Hmm that helps.... I/'m usually impatient, I start to see the view moving, then I fire again.
thanks bouncer and Mytflyguy. I worked for a while in single player today as a sniper, working close targets. I believe i get it now!
it's not automatic. It's necessary to learn approx how far you'll have to shoot.
