A thought for later on the sg server...

It's popularity is exploding as far as I can see. So why not enforce a "simple" pass word. So you have to type "sg" to play. Even advertise the sg pass word now on the server. I've seen it on other servers where their popularity has grown so big they have a simple pw now.

This will also reduce some of the tk crazed drifters that go to servers just to ruin games.

Maybe a ways after Vietnam, this may be a good idea! :)

Have to think about it. My initial thought is "that would turn the server into a ghost town". Maybe...maybe...6-8 other (non-SG)players from the outside would eventually fine out the password, pretty much only those few that come here to our forums. Hutch, Imagine, etc.

Once CTFE server manager is completed (I think it is...haven't seen updates from Brandon in a few days)....and we're back up and running on that, we'll have to reorganize as admins, and I think coordinate better. My schedule has been hectic lately, I'm not on as much as I used to be. May have to rethink the admin thing, look at who's usually on the server...and when they are on, try to find a way to cover the server with admins through the peak hours as best we can.

But passwording the server...it'll be boring as heck. At it's very peak we might have 8-10 players on, most of the time, 2, 3, 4, maybe 6.

i mean long after the server is settled in. and don't keep the pw a secret. broadcast it for a few weeks after vietnam say. Any regulars or semi regulars will take note. Less smacktards that way and the server is full. I'm not saying make it private.

There's a DC Lost Village 24/7 doing it now. They always packed.
