Hi,

I am a member of a student club in Orlando, FL. The Club, UCF PC Gaming Club www.ucfgaming.net), will be holding an over night LAN event the last weekend of february for 150 PC's, Xbox. Game, and PS2 platforms.

We will have full blown planned out tournaments with prizes, and a stocked concession stand paired with boxes of Bawls for your caffeinated pleasures! The exact date and times of the event will be posted on the front of UCFG! The event will be held in an abandon movie theater that has been leased for the event.

If you are in the Orlando area and you wish to attend, the price of admission is $10 for students and 15 for non students. It will be a Bring Your Own Computer event. Pre-registration begins this week (2/8/04).

Hope to see you there!

That looks like a fun time MWarhead. Big LAN parties are a blast, I used to help setup LAN parties a lot back in our clans UT days. We never had one that approached 150 players, but we had a few near 100 attendees. Always all PC's.

Abandoned movie theater....how the elecricity there? (remembering a few larger parties we in older places like VFW halls that kept tripping breakers)

Thanks for stopping by and posting! We do have quite a few members in FL.

Yer nickname looks familiar...

I am one of the staff members in the club in the Lan Admin Category, so if you come my name is Chad and I will probably be running around making sure everything is running smothly.

As for power in the place it has plenty of amperage (1200 amps I believe) but its all going to the wrong places so we are going to have to do some rewirining. The Electrical Engineer, Club President, and I are all working on that.

Last fall we had an 86 person lan and it was a lot of fun.

As for me being familiar

I post a lot on hardforums, nforcershq, amdmb, and genmay.

I do remixed nforce drivers, and used to do 3dfx conversions.

As for games, pretty much anything any one wants with planned events as well.
Usually at the events we play CS/HL, Savage, BF1942, and much more.

I have also seen Enemy Territory, UT2003, Warcraft 3, Starcraft, and Halo. But, for halo we are planning a 48 person Xbox Halo Tournament.

Check out www.ucfgaming.net for finalized plans and details.

Anyways hope to see some of you there.

The old UC7 theater eh? I could just imagine the wiring job you'll have to do..

Thats a cool plan though.. If my main rig was up I'd be there for sure.. I live out by Corner Lake/ Lake Pickett (near Bithlo) so UCF is just a 10 minute drive. I do small 3-6 person LAN parties at my house from time to time.

Originally my wife and I were supposed to fly down to Argentina that week, but now it looks like we will be delayed until either April, or push it back to Sept..

I'll see if I can't put some type of rig together.. BF'42 is just about the only game I would be interested in playing.

Thanks for the heads up Mwarhead! :)
