Speaking of 48 players.. I just played a grand total of about 10 minutes on El Al and the server had 43 players and it was laggy has heck and very choppy! Any way we could tone the server down abit..say 32 players or such?

Im not sure about the rest of you on how the server plays, might be my pc just cant handle that many...I dunno.

Have you tried the dial-up connection setting? Ever since I did that, no lag for me. If everyone did that, perhaps teh server wouldn't bog so much. Thanks to Chris for that tip:)

was fine when i was playing with 48 players...... but then again, i have experianced lag when it was at 28 players, also. me complaining about lag when nobody else was having probs..... and vice versa. all in all, though i don;t experience much in terms of lag.... unless the server needs to be rebooted, but then everyone is experiencing the same symptoms.

now sure exactly what it comes from. maybe the game environment in general? like lots of people moving around really fast in vehicles/planes, lots of heavy action (graphics/sound spurts and player info data like direction, speed, actions, etc) or something?

mine was choppy everytime igot in a fight or was flying. kept on killing myself. at least i am good at that:D

I did that first...changed to 56k and chop was still there. Turned off BFRSM and the chop vanished! I DEFINITELY cant wait until we get the newest version of the kicker program back. :) Guess If I want to play, I cant have RSM going. :(

I keep the remote running on another computer. It was running fine for me...more than 50% of the players pings were below 60ms, many in the 30's and even 20's, which shows it isnt' the server or the servers connection. I was in the mid 40's for a solid hour of playing...it ran smooth.

I PcAnywhere'd into the server while it was at 38 - 39 players. CPU utilization still both below 60 - 65%, and RAM was still only at 220 megs total used...the bf'42.exe was only using 99 megs. That 1.6 patch cut the RAM usage of the game nearly in half!!!.

Bandwidth was at 3.3 megs down, 3.5 megs up.

Unless you are an Admin I don't think you would have it installed right now Cypher.

I have my remote admin program running on an older Dell from '99 w/Win98. It works fine and I have it connected to my gaming rig via KVM. So, when I need to kick *SCROLL LOCK* *SCROLL LOCK* ... Refresh... KICK ... back to the game and keep on rolling.

It works very well and doesn't slow anything down.

Wish I had another pc to do things of that nature. Weird thing is, this never happened to me before. Getting lag and chop from the rsm. Cant wait for the upgrade!

Same here..caught in limbo. There is an updated one I may setup today/tomorrow...from BBO. Waiting for CTFE to go through his last major update...he's rolling them out like crazy still, I hate getting 6 updates per day. Great package..but man, he does a flurry of updates which are a pain to keep up with.
