I have a netgear MR814V2 Router connected to a Motorola Surfboard SB5100 cable modem, my ISP is comcast. The router is upgraded to the latest firmware available on netgears site. My problem is that after a time of the router being on my connection becomes slower and slower and I've noticed a great deal of packet loss occuring also over time. As if in a 24 hour period the connection slowly degrades, sometimes this is 24 hours, sometimes more sometimes less. I have called Netgear a number of times on this issue and they deny the fact that they've heard of anyone else with this problem. So I'm turning to this board to see if anyone has any suggestions or can tell me why this happens. I also have a netgear RP114 which works flawlessly with this cable modem. I have tried all of the standard fixes that netgear has suggested, changing the MTU setting, disabling the SPI firewall etc etc. This is happening with both wired and wireless connections as well so I know it isn't one computer since I have about 6 difference machines that this has been tested with. IF anyone has any ideas or can at least give me a reasonable explenation as to why this happens that would also be satisfactory since Netgear could not.
