Hi all,
I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have direcway satellite internet service on my hp computer running windows ME and I want to set up a network so I can have my other computer which is a gateway running windows 98se share my satellite connection. I have connected everything to my hub and both computers and run home networking on both computers, but they do not show up in network neighborhood folder. My system on the gateway computer says that my nic card is installed and working properly with no conflicts, but it will not connect to the internet. I am about to pull out my hair trying to figure out what I have done wrong:irate: Can someone please help me out???

Do you have a software firewall on either computer? Is Internet Connection Sharing turned on on the HP computer? I wish I knew more about ICS to help you out, but all I can suggest is turning it on.:(

Software firewall on the hp computer is Norton Internet Security 2004 and ICS is turned on on the hp computer too. I am using a netgear ethernet hub too.

If you havent seen this already, it may be worth looking into for you.
You have to tell them you will commit for another 15 months to get the 100 commitment credit.
Advantages would be ethernet connection and automatic software upgrades to the modem. No more gateway computer.
As for your problem, I assume you are using the dw4000. Does the usb adapter show up in your system devices? The Gateway computer is actually your client computer and your satellite is connected to what is refered to as the internet gateway. If this is incorrect, please detail everything about your satellite system.
Turn off I.C.S. if its on, on the client computer and assign an ip say of 192.168.0.15 or somthing simular and a simular but differnt number for the host computer.
Make shure they both are in the same workgroup

Save yourself some trouble and get the DW6000. I hooked up a friends network a month or so ago with the DW6000. Having the ethernet there on the modem was nice. No ICS, you set it up like you would any other network for broadband. Modem>Router>PC's :D

Our office accountant called today to upgrade our office system.
:D :D :D
It will be nice to see if the system works that much better like I am hearing. I dont expect the latency of 750 ms average to the first hop to get any better but I bet the system just becomes more stable!
