Windows Explorer Error Problem !

Hey Fellas,

I'm having a weird problem with a machine running win XP pro.
It's a Dell Dimension 2300 fairly new, loaded with memory, only a few apps installed (Peachtree accounting etc).

Anyway, whenever I right click on the desktop it freezes up and the gives the error message:
"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1221 ModName: msvcrt.dll

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Often related to if some older files over wrote newer files of Internet Explorer.

Try Windows Updates and install a newer version of IE?

I get the same error. I'm running Win2K Pro. It has nothing to do with INTERNET Explorer, its WINDOWS explorer that's giving the error. Because its intermittent, I just let it be. But any fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Try getting the newest drivers for your video card.
