The 1.6 patch is expected out midweek.

Soon as a dedicated server is available for download for it, our server will be running Vanilla bf for a while.

Aw comon, most of us want a change of pace on the server. It'll be fun to run that for a bit. I'm itching for some old school bf.

And...if you read the Vietnam info I just posted...that's right around the corner...they're shooting for March.

Soon as that's out...we're running it.

No moans for me! I love vanilla BF! It all started with that to begin with. Vietnam for a March release??? w0o0o0o0oo0t!!! I was thinking mid summer or early fall...BONUS!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed....according to that interview I linked in that screenshot post, they say March.

I played the non-modded version of BF for the first time in a long time the other day. Its different, but its okay. Chances are DC wont work well with the new 1.6 patch anyhow so it shouldnt matter much.

1.6 is suppose have the ability to mix and match mods. Is there any chance we will do that?

is this a server and client patch?

if it is also a client patch YOSc let me know a good link to get it from and I will host the patch for SGers for a couple of days on my webby....

At least we can get the majority of users taken care of that way ...

Sure thing...I'll let ya know. Yup, patch for clients. For the server...just a fresh small server install, most likely not a patch, just a small 30 meg executable or so...that runs as a dedicated server only.

Ah, the vanilla BF. Should be fun. Probably be too much trouble to throw RTR or SW in there since alot of peeps probably don't have those expansions.:(

I would also love some RtR or SW maps in the mix. Might as well test the 1.6 patch for mixing up maps. Plus in the 1.6, there will be a new SW map :cool:

The Battlefield patches aren't that hard to dowload. It's the Desert Combat ones that are a PITA.

Oh you bet....love those maps in vanilla bf. Aberdeen is great also...all tanks.

I'll prolly run the entire rotation of maps...lets us all "vote maps off the rotation" as you guys get to see each map.

Yeah, Aberdeen is a great tank map! Randy should love so that he can use his explosion packs :D

If so....lets be prepared for server change this weekend. Patch is a few days late, heard they were shooting for Wednesday...anywho....if it comes out today, I'll be doing it prolly tonight, or tomorrow (Sat) AM.

And don't foget....vanilla bf'42 for a while. Not DC.
